Log-Safe Inc. was started in 1986 by Mark Standley. Mark saw a need in the Contract Logging Industry for safety instruction and OR-OSHA compliance issues. Mark's idea was to provide part time service to several companies vs. working for one large company. As a 5th generation logger, Mark has logged since the age of 13 and has acquired a great deal of knowledge. In the 80's Mark worked for two major worker's compensation carriers in the State of Oregon.
While working in the loss prevention department he was able to acquire valuable knowledge that he continues to update and pass on to contract logging companies, reducing the number of accidents for these companies. His continuous training in areas of job site inspection, employee and supervisor training as well as first aid training keep these companies up to date with the industry standards.
Mark's appointment to the OR-OSHA Logging Advisory Committee in 1984 gave him the opportunity to participate in the rule making process and provided him an expertise on the Division 7 rules that is unequalled in the industry. He shares this knowledge with logging companies during safety meetings and first aid training.
Mark has served as an expert witness giving testimony as needed in lawsuits involving logging accidents. The numerous services that Log-Safe Inc. provides has been very effective in reducing accidents, thus reducing workers compensation costs and making the company safety program as effective and profitable as possible.
